Live-Out Housekeeper, Chelsea

The household

A family in Chelsea is seeking an experienced housekeeper to help care for their six-bedroom home. Two adults and two children under the age of twelve live in the house, which is a warm, busy family home kept to a high standard.

The successful candidate will work alongside another housekeeper as part of a small household team, sharing the care of the home between them.

The role

This is a hands-on housekeeping position covering all aspects of the daily care, cleaning and presentation of a busy family home. The role does not include childcare, which is looked after separately.

Alongside general housekeeping, the role includes laundry, ironing and garment care to a high standard, with particular knowledge of delicate fabrics, together with household errands and wider duties as required. It calls for someone calm, practical and reliable, who enjoys being part of a small team and keeps standards steady through the rhythm of family life.

Key responsibilities

• All aspects of general housekeeping across a six-bedroom family home
• Laundry, ironing and garment care to a high standard, including delicate fabrics
• Keeping bedrooms, bathrooms and family living areas clean, tidy and well presented
• Assisting with household errands and wider household duties as required
• Working closely with the household’s other housekeeper as part of a small team

The candidate

You will be an experienced housekeeper who is comfortable and settled in a family home.

You keep high standards without needing to be asked, take genuine care with clothes and fine fabrics, and work easily alongside another housekeeper. You are dependable, well presented and relaxed around children, with a natural pride in doing things properly. Discretion is simply part of how you work.

Essential requirements

• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Demonstrable experience in a comparable private household role
• Strong laundry, ironing and garment-care skills, including delicate fabrics
• Verifiable references covering recent employment
• DBS check, or willingness to undertake one
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high personal standards
• A discreet, professional manner

The package

Salary £42,000 – £45,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

This is a live-out position based in Chelsea. The working pattern is five days per week, 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility required. The start date is mid-August 2026.
