When you engage Halcyon Household, your search is handled directly, personally, and with discretion. You speak with our founders or a senior member of the Halcyon team from the first conversation through to placement and beyond. Every search we accept is managed with personal oversight, with the full weight of our expertise and candidate network applied to your specific requirement.
We work with private households, estate managers, family offices, and private assistants across prime London — wherever the standards are uncompromising and the requirement for discretion is absolute. We understand the pace, the expectations, and the level of care these environments demand. And we work accordingly.
Our process is thorough and considered. We take time at the outset to understand your household in full — not simply the role, but the character of the home, the principal’s preferences, and the environment the right candidate will be entering. That understanding shapes everything that follows.
You will receive a curated shortlist of three to five candidates. Each has been interviewed and assessed in depth. Each comes with a clear personal recommendation. We do not send you names and ask you to decide — we do that work, and we bring you only those we stand behind.

Initial Conversation
When you make contact, you will speak directly with our founders or a senior member of the Halcyon team. This first conversation is considered and without obligation. We will listen carefully to what you are looking for and offer an honest assessment of how we can help. Nothing is required of you at this stage beyond a willingness to talk.

Understanding Your Household
Once you decide to proceed, we conduct a thorough briefing. We explore the role in detail — responsibilities, standards, household structure, working arrangements — and take equal care to understand the less tangible qualities that matter: the character of the home, the principal’s preferences, and what a successful placement genuinely looks like for your household.

The Search
With the briefing complete, we begin. We draw on our carefully developed candidate network and conduct discreet, targeted outreach to identify experienced housekeepers suited to your household. Every candidate is assessed carefully against your specific requirements before being considered for presentation.

The Shortlist
We present a curated shortlist of three to five candidates. Each is accompanied by a detailed profile, a personal recommendation from our team, and everything you need to make a confident, informed decision. Every name we put forward is someone we believe is genuinely right for your household.

Placement & Beyond
Our involvement continues after the offer is made. We support both household and candidate through the offer, onboarding, and early settling-in period — remaining available to both parties for as long as it is useful. A placement made well is one we expect to last — and we stand behind every placement we make.

What clients ask us.
How many candidates will you present?
Three to five. A longer list places the burden of assessment on you — and our role is to complete that work before a shortlist reaches you. Every candidate we present has been thoroughly assessed and personally recommended.
How long does a typical search take?
Most searches reach shortlist stage within two to four weeks. More complex briefs, or searches for candidates with very specific experience, may take longer. We will always give you an honest timeline at the outset, and we will keep you informed throughout.
How do you ensure discretion?
Your household’s details are known only to our founding team and are never shared with third parties. Candidates are briefed on confidentiality expectations before any information about your household is disclosed. We do not advertise roles in a way that identifies your household without your express consent.
What does your vetting process involve?
Every candidate we consider is interviewed in depth, with a thorough exploration of their working history, experience, and professional conduct. We verify references directly, confirm right-to-work status, and carry out Enhanced DBS checks as standard. We present only those we are fully confident in recommending.
What are your fees?
Our fee structure is straightforward and discussed directly during your initial conversation. Context matters — and we will be glad to talk you through it clearly and personally, without obligation.
What happens if the placement does not work out?
We take the long-term success of every placement seriously. In the unlikely event that a placement does not work out within an agreed period, we will review the circumstances carefully and work with you towards an appropriate resolution. The specific terms are agreed in writing at the outset of every search.
Do you work outside London?
Prime London is our primary market — serving households across Mayfair, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Chelsea, Kensington, Hampstead, and the wider districts where London’s finest private residences are found. For the right requirement, we are also able to support searches in the home counties and, selectively, internationally. Please speak with us about your specific situation.
Can you help with temporary cover?
Yes. We maintain a network of experienced housekeepers available for temporary engagements — household transitions, cover during absence, and particularly busy periods. Please mention your requirement when you make contact.
