Live-Out Housekeeper, Chelsea

The household

A private household in Chelsea is looking for an experienced housekeeper to take care of a six-bedroom home. This is an adult household with settled routines and a calm, well-ordered feel, and the house is kept to a high standard throughout.

The housekeeping here is shared between two. A small team is already in place, and the successful candidate will work alongside the household’s other housekeeper.

The role

The position covers the daily care and presentation of the house, from general housekeeping throughout to laundry, ironing and garment care.

A good knowledge of delicate fabrics matters here, as does a readiness to help with errands and other household duties when they arise. The work is steady rather than hurried, and it will suit a housekeeper who is used to holding a standard on their own initiative and who takes real satisfaction in a home kept properly.

Key responsibilities

• Daily housekeeping and presentation throughout a six-bedroom home
• Care of bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, including bed-making and linen changes
• Laundry, ironing and garment care, with particular attention to delicate fabrics
• Household errands and wider duties as they arise
• Working alongside the household’s other housekeeper to keep standards consistent

The candidate

You will have at least five years behind you in private households, and a way of working that needs little direction.

You notice what needs doing before you are asked. You are well presented, straightforward to work alongside, and you treat the privacy of a household as a matter of course.

Essential requirements

• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• A minimum of five years’ experience in private households
• Strong laundry, ironing and garment-care skills, including delicate fabrics
• Verifiable references covering recent employment
• DBS check, or willingness to undertake one
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high personal standards
• A discreet, professional manner

The package

Salary £46,000 gross per annum.

This is a live-out position based in Chelsea. The working pattern is five days per week, 8.30am to 5.30pm, with some flexibility required. The start date is as soon as the right candidate is available.
