Live-Out Housekeeper, Mayfair

The household

A private family in Mayfair is looking for an experienced live-out housekeeper to join a small, settled team within a large London home.

The house is generous in size, arranged over four floors, with antiques, marble and other natural finishes throughout. Three housekeepers are already in place, and the new housekeeper will work happily alongside them to keep the home looking its best from day to day.

The role

This is a practical, hands-on role centred on the everyday care, cleaning and presentation of a large home.

As one of a close housekeeping team, you will help keep the house calm, comfortable and beautifully kept, giving particular thought to the antiques, marble and natural surfaces that call for a gentle, knowledgeable touch. It would suit someone steady, dependable and house-proud, with real experience of larger homes and an easy, cooperative way of working within a team.

Key responsibilities

• Daily housekeeping and presentation of the home to a high, consistent standard
• Cleaning and caring for rooms across all four floors, with a careful eye for detail
• Attentive care of antiques, marble and other natural surfaces
• Making beds, changing linen and keeping bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas looking their best
• Working smoothly alongside the rest of the housekeeping team
• Helping the household run comfortably when the family is at home

The candidate

You will be an experienced housekeeper who is used to larger, well-run homes and enjoys being part of a team.

You take real care over your work, notice the small things and understand how to look after fine materials properly. You are reliable, neatly presented and easy to have around the house. Good spoken English is important, as you will be communicating with the family and the wider team each day.

Essential requirements

• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Experience working in large private homes
• Confident caring for antiques, marble and other natural surfaces
• Good spoken English
• Verifiable references covering recent employment
• DBS check at the level appropriate to the role, or willingness to undertake one
• Strong housekeeping skills and a good eye for detail
• Happy working as part of an established household team

The package

Salary £50,000 – £55,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

This is a live-out position based in Mayfair. The working pattern is five days per week, 8am to 5pm, with occasional weekend work and some flexibility required when the family is in residence (occasionally working six days). The start date is the end of August 2026.
